Dr. Jing Feng, in collaboration with Dr. David Kaber from Industrial and Systems Engineering and Mr. Chris Cunningham from Institute of Transportation Research and Education, is awarded a grant from North Carolina Department of Transportation to examine in-vehicle display design for manual and automated driving. Congratulations to Robert Sall for his paper Better off Alone: The Presence of One Hazard Impedes Detection of Another in Simulated Traffic Scenes being selected as a finalist for the best student paper by the Surface Transportation Technical Group at the 2016 Human Factors and Ergonomics Society International Annual Meeting.

​Congratulations to HeeSun Choi for successfully defending her PhD dissertation titled Older Drivers' Attentional Functions and Crash Risks in Various Hazardous Situations: Relationship, Taxonomy, and Compensatory Behaviors! Dr. HeeSun Choi will continue her research endeavor as a postdoctoral scholar at the National Institute of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (NIH CDC).

Congratulations to Hallie Clark for successfully defending her master thesis titled Age Differences in the Takeover of Vehicle Control, Engagement in Non-driving-related Activities and Opinions of the Technology! Hallie will be continuing her PhD research in the lab.

Collaborative research between Dr. Theju Jacob and Dr. Wesley Snyder from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the ACP Lab on A Neural Model for Straight Line Detection in the Human Visual Cortex is now published in Neurocomputing. Read the paper

Congratulations to HeeSun Choi for winning the John Oliver Cook Graduate Student Award in Psychology from North Carolina State University. This scholarship will support HeeSun's dissertation research on Age-related Changes in Attentional Networks and The Impacts on Driving Safety.​

Congratulations to Hallie Clark for being the recipient of the 2015 Megan Cornog Memorial Highway Safety Scholarship from The University of North Carolina Highway Safety Research Center. This scholarship will support Hallie's research on Age Differences in Semi-Autonomous Driving.
